Sunday dinner was made by Maya, my preteen lately wants to be involved in making dinners and baking where before she had no desire to cook. And touching raw chicken or any other meat was just unacceptable, maybe she realized that cooking can be fun. Well I'm really happy that I can share my kitchen with her and hope she will enjoy cooking and baking. So yesterday she made wonderful one pot dish called Jambalaya, its basically rice with chicken, red pepper and green peas, it was delicious.
In winter we eat lots of oranges and this is also the time when I make lots of orange peel. All you do is soak it for day or two, changing water often, then you boil it slowly in water and sugar until the peel is shiny, cut it in little pieces, I even use the remaining syrup as a extract for cakes.
I made orange tea towels for my Mom to go with little jars of peel and syrup.
Maya has been super busy with her jewelery because she will be taking part in my first this year craft show but because tomorrow is Valentines Day I will show you what she made for her classmates and teachers.
First some cards for friends.
I had a pajamas pant for up-cycling with hearts so we cut out the hearts and she sewed them together and made a key chains for the teachers.
